Most roadside calls aren't tows at all. A dead battery in a Longview parking lot, keys locked in a car off Loop 281, a flat on the shoulder near White Oak, an empty tank three miles short of a gas station on the way to Hallsville. None of that needs a flatbed. It needs a truck that shows up fast with the right gear.
What we run and what it costs
| Service | Flat price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Jump start | $55 to $75 | Standard 12V lead-acid batteries |
| Lockout | $65 to $95 | Price depends on lock type and vehicle age |
| Tire change | $70 to $95 | You need a working, aired spare on the vehicle |
| Fuel delivery | $55 to $70 | Plus the cost of fuel, 2-gallon minimum |
Prices assume a standard passenger vehicle in our base coverage area. Calls out toward Gladewater or past Hallsville run a bit more since the truck's driving farther to reach you.
How a roadside call goes
- Call in and tell us the problem: won't start, locked out, flat, or empty tank.
- We quote a flat price on the spot based on the service and your location.
- Driver texts a real ETA once dispatched.
- Truck arrives with the right gear already loaded, not guessed at.
- We handle the job on scene, most calls wrap in 20 to 40 minutes.
- If the fix doesn't hold, for example a battery that won't take a jump because it's fully dead, we'll quote a tow to a shop right there so you're not stuck deciding twice.
Why these calls spike here in particular
Longview summers run hot, with average highs near 89 degrees and the kind of humidity that comes standard in the piney woods. Heat is harder on a car battery than cold is, it accelerates the internal corrosion that eventually kills one, so late-summer jump start calls climb every year regardless of the battery's age on paper. Locked-out calls follow a different pattern, they cluster around grocery store and school pickup lots in Longview and White Oak more than out on the highway, since that's where people are juggling kids, bags, and a car door at the same time.
What makes a roadside call harder
- Hybrid and EV batteries. A hybrid's 12V system needs a different jump approach than a standard gas engine, since jumping it wrong can trip the onboard electronics. We carry gear built for both.
- Keyless-entry lockouts. Older cars with a physical lock cylinder are a fast job. Newer keyless systems sometimes can't be opened with a standard slim-jim-style tool without risking the door panel, and in those cases we'll say so rather than force it.
- No usable spare. If your spare is flat, missing, or the wrong size, a tire change turns into a tow to the nearest shop or tire store instead.
- Diesel in a hard freeze. Cold-weather diesel gelling is rare here since East Texas winters are mild, but on the handful of nights it drops well below freezing, a diesel fuel delivery can take longer to actually solve the problem.
- Locked out with the engine running. These calls move to the front of the line, since a running, unattended car is its own kind of urgent.
How long it takes
Most roadside calls run 20 to 40 minutes once the truck arrives. Jump starts and tire changes are usually the fastest, often under 20 minutes. Lockouts vary more depending on the lock and vehicle age.
One fact, not an adjective
We stock jump packs rated for both standard 12V and hybrid systems on every truck, not just one style of jumper cable. That's equipment, not a claim.
Common questions
Do you carry spare tires to sell on the spot?
No. We change the tire you already have a spare for. If you don't have a usable spare, we'll tow you to a tire shop instead of guessing at a size to bring.
Can you get into my car without a key at all?
In most cases, yes, using tools built for the lock type. Some newer vehicles with fully electronic entry may need a locksmith instead, and we'll tell you that upfront rather than damage your door trying.
How much fuel do you bring?
Enough to get you to the nearest station, usually 2 to 3 gallons. You pay for the fuel itself plus the flat delivery fee.
What if the jump start doesn't work?
If the battery won't hold a charge, that usually means it needs replacing, not jumping. We'll quote a tow to a shop on the spot so you're not left standing there.
Do you come out to grocery store and school lots, not just the highway?
Yes. A good share of our lockout and dead-battery calls happen in parking lots around Longview and White Oak, not on I-20 itself. Give us the store name or address and we'll find you just as fast.
